The Players Championship Notes

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - It hasn't been the greatest of weeks for

Tiger Woods.

He shot another 73 yesterday, and he's 14 shots out of the lead. But he hasn't lost his sense of humor.

Before his tee time with Henrik Stenson yesterday morning, Woods showed up on the range at TPC Sawgrass wearing a working man's hard hat and a big grin.

How come? The day before, after Stenson hit his tee shot into the lake at the 18th, he slammed the head of his driver on the ground - BOING. The head flew off the club and struck a photographer in the hand.

"It was a fun joke," Stenson said.

After the round - Woods' second straight 1-over 73 - he signed his card and uncharacteristically blew past the media without a word.

"He was having a rough day," said Stenson, who had a terrific round, shooting 66. "He's frustrated. But he's allowed to have a bad week. I don't think everybody sort of realized that he's human. A lot of times, he doesn't seem to be."
