BALTIMORE - Darnell Harris scored 25 points for La Salle in a return to his hometown, but high school teammate Reggie Holmes countered with 26 to lead Morgan State past the Explorers, 93-87, in a nonleague game yesterday at Hill Field House.

The Explorers, who were down by 20 points with 1 minute, 33 seconds remaining, went on a 20-6 run but came up short.

Harris was 7 for 13 on three-point attempts, hitting four in the final minute. The senior guard out of St. Frances had given the Explorers a 29-21 lead on a three-pointer with 7:37 left in the first half before Morgan State began its surge.

Yves Mekongo Mbala added 11 points for La Salle (3-4).

Holmes, a sophomore guard, made 14 of 16 free throws, including his final 11.

Jamar Smith scored 25 points for the Bears (5-4).
