Central Bucks South tailback Eric Reynolds, who rushed for nearly 3,000 yards this season, has made an oral commitment to attend Boston College.

Reynolds, a 5-foot-10, 195-pound senior, visited the college over the weekend.

"I loved the city of Boston, the coaching staff and the players, and, academically, it's a great school," he said last night.

And he sees an opportunity to play early there.

"Except for a player who is a junior right now, they don't have any returning running backs," Reynolds said. "The potential is there for me, if I work hard, to play as a freshman."

Reynolds chose the Eagles over Temple and Villanova. He had visited Temple on the Dec. 7 weekend.

"It was tough telling both of the schools, because they've been so nice to me and my parents," he said.

In 12 games this season, the quick-footed Reynolds rushed 260 times for 2,830 yards (10.9 yards per carry) and scored 38 touchdowns. He helped lead the fourth-year Titans to an 11-1 overall record and, with a 7-0 mark, the Suburban One League National Conference championship.

For his career, Reynolds, who also was a dangerous kick returner and filled in at linebacker, rushed for 4,722 yards and 54 touchdowns.
