Drexel's Gabriela Marginean scored a game-high 16 points and Alison Lupariello added 12 as the Dragons downed Penn, 60-41, in a women's basketball game yesterday.

The teams went into halftime at Drexel's Daskalaskis Athletic Center tied at 26, but the Dragons (3-6) poured it on from three-point range in the second half, shooting 8-for-15 from behind the arc.

Sarah Bucar led the way for Penn (3-6) with 10 points, shooting 2-for-4 from the line and grabbing eight rebounds. Carrie Biemer added seven points.

Drexel will next play on New Year's Eve afternoon, facing American University at the Palestra as part of a doubleheader also featuring the men's team against Saint Joseph's. Penn next plays Thursday against Big 5 rival Temple.

* At Orlando, Fla., Jamie Walsh scored a career-high 23 points as La Salle celebrated a 66-62 come-from-behind victory against Appalachian State in the Central Florida Classic.

The Explorers (5-6) were down by as much as 14 in the second half. Senior Carlene Hightower scored 16 points, including the 1,100th of her career. *
