NORFOLK, Va. - The Phantoms scored four goals in the second period last night on their way to a 6-3 AHL win over the Norfolk Admirals at the Scope.

Steve Downie scored two goals for the Phantoms (21-8-1). His first one knotted the score, 1-1, at 11 minutes, 50 seconds of the opening period. His second goal, at 8:53 of the second period, snapped a 2-2 tie.

It was the second of the four goals after Norfolk (10-19-1) had taken a 2-1 lead just a minute into the period.

Triston Grant evened it at 2 about a half-minute later.

Darroll Powe's goal at 10:15 of the period proved to be the game-winner, and Jesse Boulerice completed the run at 18:30 to make it 5-2.

Pete Zingoni capped the Phantoms' scoring in the third period.

Scott Munroe stopped 23 of 26 shots for the Phantoms. The Admirals' Jonathan Boutin stopped 18 of 23 Phantoms shots in the first two periods, and Ryan Munce finished up in the third by stopping nine of 10.

The Phantoms have 43 points and own a five-point lead over Albany in the East Division. They return home tonight to the Wachovia Spectrum to play the Binghamton Senators.
