Sun Valley will open the PIAA Class AAA state baseball playoffs against Fleetwood, the District 3 runner-up, today at West Chester University at 4 p.m. The Vanguards, who won their second District I title in the last 4 years, carry a 21-game winning streak into the state playoffs, and a 21-1 overall record.

Marple Newtown, the District 1 runner-up, will play District 3 champion Muhlenberg today at Fredericksburg at 4:30.
Right now, no team is hotter than the Vanguards, who beat Marple in the district championship, 7-5, on Thursday. Their only loss came in the season opener against Penncrest on March 24.
In Class AAAA today, District 1 champion North Penn will open with Hempfield (District 3, third place) at Quakertown, Conestoga (1-4) will play Warwick (3-1) at Ephrata, Spring-Ford (1-2) faces Whitehall (11-1) at Northampton, and Avon Grove (1-3) has Public League champ Frankford (12-1) at La Salle University.
In Class AA, New Hope-Solebury (1-1) will play Lancaster Catholic (3-1) at Ephrata, and in Class A, Christopher Dock (1-1) will play GAMP (12-1) at Ashburn Field. *
