BOSTON - Celtics all-star forward Paul Pierce says his injured right knee feels better, and he expects to play tonight in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Pierce, who sprained his knee in the second half of Game 1 on Thursday, will continue to ice the injury and get electrical stimulus treatments.
Celtics center Kendrick Perkins also says he plans to play, despite a sprained left ankle.
Porter to coach Suns.
Terry Porter will be the Phoenix Suns' next coach, ending a monthlong search for a successor to Mike D'Antoni.
"He's a great communicator. And his coaching experience, two years as a head coach, is important to me," Phoenix general manager Steve Kerr said in a telephone interview.
Porter, 45, was an assistant with the Detroit Pistons. He played 17 seasons in the NBA.
