Three teams advanced to the second round of the Carpenter Cup in yesterday's action at Penn's Meiklejohn Stadium.

A team representing the Suburban One League's National Conference and the Bicentennial Conference ousted a team representing the Olympic and Colonial Conferences, 10-2; the Lehigh Valley squad eliminated the team from the Tri-County Conference and Cape-Atlantic League, 14-3; and Jersey Shore defeated Delaware South, 6-3.

SOL/Bicentennial will meet Mercer County at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow. Lehigh Valley will face Jersey Shore at 9 a.m. Friday.

A two-run double by Parkland High's Danny Klem keyed a three-run fifth that gave Lehigh Valley a 6-1 lead in its rout of Tri/Cape.

SOL/Bicentennial pitchers struck out 12 Olympic/Colonial batters in the victory. Vinny Voorhees of New Hope-Solebury High struck out four of the 10 batters he faced in three shutout innings without giving up a walk.

Andrew Nowell of Wall Township High was 2 for 3 with a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored to lead Jersey Shore.
