Gimpy power forward Elton Brand did not accompany the 76ers on their trip to Auburn Hills, Mich., where they will take on the Detroit Pistons and former Sixer Allen Iverson tonight.
Brand scored a season-low three points and sat out the final 16 minutes, 49 seconds of Wednesday's 114-102 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at the Wachovia Center. After the game, Brand was treated by the team physician, Dr. Jack McPhilemy, who diagnosed him as having a strained right hamstring. A subsequent MRI exam confirmed that diagnosis.
The Sixers are listing Brand as day-to-day. Coach Maurice Cheeks did not announce who will take Brand's place in the starting lineup, but don't be surprised if Thaddeus Young moves over from small forward, with shooting guard Andre Iguodala taking over for Young at the "3." *
