Senior Carrie Biemer scored 23 points and junior Sarah Bucar had 16 to lead Penn's women basketball team to its first win of the season, 61-58, over Navy at the Palestra yesterday.
The two shot a combined 14-for-23 from the field, 6-for-7 on three-pointers, as the Quakers won for the first time after six losses. K.C. Gordon had 13 points for Navy (4-6), while Angela Myers scored 12 points, with 13 rebounds
Katerina Lackner had eight points for Penn off the bench.
In another women's game:
* At Drexel, Gabriela Marginean again outscored her teammates (25-24), but the Dragons (3-4) lost to Army, 55-49.
The Cadets (4-4) were led by Erin Anthony's 16 points and 10 rebounds and Alex McGuire's 10 points. Army swamped the Dragons on the backboards, 41-20. *
