College Basketball: No. 4 Duke, No. 7 Notre Dame fall

DeShawn Sims scored a career-high 28 points, leading Michigan to an 81-73 victory over No. 4 Duke yesterday in Ann Arbor, Mich., its second win over a No. 4-ranked team in two weeks.

The Wolverines (6-2) beat then-No. 4 UCLA last month before losing by 71-56 to the Blue Devils (8-1) in the 2K Sports Classic final.

Manny Harris scored 17 points for the Wolverines, and freshman Zack Novak had a season-high 14.

Jon Scheyer scored 16 points for Duke, while Kyle Singler had 15.

Ohio State 67, Notre Dame 62 -

Evan Turner scored a career-high 28 points and the Buckeyes (5-0) posted a win over the No. 7 Irish (6-2) in Indianapolis. It was Ohio State's second straight upset of a ranked opponent.

Freshman B.J. Mullens added a season-high 11 points for the Buckeyes, who were coming off a 73-68 upset at No. 21 Miami.

Luke Harangody led Notre Dame with 25 points and 16 rebounds.

Pittsburgh 80, Vermont 51 -

Sam Young scored 28 points as the No. 3 Panthers (9-0) eased past the visiting Catamounts (4-3).

Gonzaga 70, Indiana 54 -

Josh Heytvelt scored 17 points, and Jeremy Pargo added 13, as the No. 5 Zags (6-0) survived the pesky Hoosiers (4-4) in the first basketball game played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
