Coyotes 5, Stars 3

DALLAS - Martin Hanzal scored twice, including the third-period tiebreaking goal, and Phoenix beat Dallas just a few hours after Stars officials met to discuss what to do with Sean Avery.

No decisions were announced on Avery. The feisty forward was suspended by the NHL for a distasteful remark about ex-girlfriends made Dec. 2, and has been written off by his teammates and coach.
