Claude Giroux's third-period goal made the difference last night as the Phantoms won their fifth straight, beating the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 2-1, in an American Hockey League game at the Wachovia Spectrum.

Giroux scored 7 minutes, 10 seconds into the period, and goalie Scott Munroe held off the Pens the rest of the way. Munroe made 28 saves.

Brad Kane gave the Phantoms a 1-0 lead late in the first period with his eighth goal of the season.
