ITHACA, N.Y. - Jeff Foote scored 25 points, 16 in the second half, as Cornell rallied from a 14-point deficit to beat La Salle, 79-70, yesterday.

Ryan Wittman added 18 points for Cornell, while Louis Dale chipped in 14. The Big Red (5-5) shot 44.5 percent from the floor and made 26 of 37 free throws.

La Salle's Kimmani Barrett was the only player who had a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Rodney Green added 12 points for the Explorers (5-5), while Jerrell Williams and Ruben Guillandeaux scored 11 apiece.

La Salle shot 40 percent from the floor and was 78.3 percent on free throws, making 18 of 23.

The Explorers held the lead through most of the first half, and led by 14 points at 18 minutes, 28 seconds in the second. After trading the lead a few times, Foote made it a 67-65 game after a pair of free throws with 2:49 to play, giving Cornell a lead it would not relinquish.
