College Basketball: Blue Devils return to form

The Blue Devils (21-5) came in having dropped three of four, including consecutive losses to North Carolina and Boston College.

Jon Scheyer had 18 points, Kyle Singler scored 15, Elliot Williams had a career high of 11, and Lance Thomas added nine for Duke.

The start was the sixth this season for Thomas and the second for Williams as coach Mike Krzyzewski changed the lineup.

The Blue Devils were 7 for 15 on three-pointers (46.7 percent), the first time since Jan. 24 that they shot better than 33 percent from beyond the arc.

D. J. Kennedy had 20 points for the Red Storm (12-14).

Charlotte 65, Xavier 60 - Ian Andersen scored 16 points and Lamont Mack scored all 12 of his in the final eight minutes, leading Charlotte (10-15, 4-7 Atlantic Ten) to the upset of 16th-ranked Xavier (12-5, 9-3) in Charlotte, N.C.

Mack, Charlotte's top scorer coming in, got into early foul trouble and missed his first six shots. He then hit four of his final six, including a three-pointer with 31 seconds left, to put the 49ers ahead by 62-58.

An'Juan Wilderness iced it by going 3 for 4 from the foul line in the final 11 seconds before the Charlotte students stormed the floor in the 49ers' biggest win in a down season.

Gonzaga 91, Loyola Marymount 54 - Steven Gray had a career high of 23 points, and 17th-ranked Gonzaga (20-5, 11-0 West Coast Conference) pounded Loyola Marymount (2-25, 1-10) in Spokane, Wash., to win its ninth consecutive regular-season conference title.

In the region: Kevin Misevicius scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Cabrini to a 79-70 win at Immaculata, which got 34 points from Kyle Finklea, matching the single-game school record. . . . Mike Williams scored 20 points to propel Delaware Valley past Penn State Harrisburg, 85-53, in Doylestown. . . . Eli Hitchens scored 15 points to lead Neumann past Marywood, 81-67, in Aston.
