Raptors hire Iavaroni

The Toronto Raptors hired former Memphis Grizzlies coach Marc Iavaroni yesterday as an assistant to Jay Triano, and they are parting ways with assistants Mike Evans and Gord Herbert.

Iavaroni started as a rookie on the 76ers' 1983 NBA championship team. He was an assistant in Phoenix, Miami and Cleveland before taking over Memphis on May 30, 2007. He was fired Jan. 22 after a 13-26 start.

Evans, a former Denver assistant, spent two seasons with the Raptors. Herbert was with Toronto for just one season.

The Raptors also said Alex English will return for his sixth season with Toronto, his eighth as an NBA assistant.

Mickey stays neutral

With Orlando going against the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals, it's Disney World vs. Disneyland.

Mickey Mouse likes both teams.

The NBA and Disney Consumer Products unveiled a pair of T-shirts yesterday, each with the famous character showing support of his neighboring team.
