SAN DIEGO - Mark Reynolds hit a three-run homer off infielder Josh Wilson with two outs in the 18th inning, sending the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 9-6 win over the San Diego Padres in the longest major league game this season.
The Padres were held hitless through nine extra innings by four relievers. Their only baserunners in extra innings came on three walks. The game took 5 hours, 45 minutes.
The Padres tied it at 6 on David Eckstein's first career pinch-hit homer, a three-run shot, with two outs in the ninth.
The Padres used all their relievers and had starter Chad Gaudin - the loser in Friday night's series opener - pitch the 16th and 17th innings before turning to Wilson in the 18th for his third career relief appearance.
Wilson allowed a single to Felipe Lopez and walked Ryan Roberts with one out before Reynolds hit a full-count pitch off an advertising sign atop the right-field wall.

Mets 7, Nationals 0
WASHINGTON - Livan Hernandez allowed four singles in seven innings and New York scored five first-inning runs in beating Washington.
Hernandez (5-1) walked four and struck out four to win for the fifth time in seven starts. The righthander has won seven consecutive games against the Nationals and improved to 10-5 lifetime against his former team.
The Nationals lost for the 10th time in 12 games and dropped to 2-7 against the Mets this season.
Pedro Feliciano and Bobby Parnell got the Mets through the eighth, and Francisco Rodriguez finished the five-hitter, completing New York's third shutout.
The Mets, limited to four runs in splitting the first two games of the weekend series, took advantage of Craig Stammen's wildness in the first, when he made a pair of wild pitches.
