PORTLAND, Maine - Portland scored eight runs in the seventh inning yesterday en route to a 10-3 Eastern League victory over the Trenton Thunder.

The eight runs were the most allowed by the Thunder in one inning this season.

Trenton lost its first series since dropping a three-game series to Akron on May 19-21. The Thunder lost back-to-back games for the first time since May 17 at Binghamton.

Portland broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning on a solo homer by centerfielder Bubba Bell off Thunder reliever Alan Horne (0-3).

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Brandon Magee allowed only two runs in six innings to lead the Fisher Cats past the Phillies in the Eastern League.

Gus Milner was 2 for 4 with an RBI for Reading.

Louisville 4, Lehigh Valley 1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Homer Bailey struck out six batters in 62/3 shutout innings as the Bats beat the IronPigs in the International League.

Jeremy Slayden homered in the ninth for Lehigh Valley's only run.

LANCASTER - Eric Junge and four relievers combined for the shutout as the Barnstormers beat the Riversharks in the Atlantic League.
