The winner of next month's Greenwood Cup at Philadelphia Park will earn an automatic berth in the Breeders' Cup Marathon at Santa Anita.

The winner of next month's Greenwood Cup at Philadelphia Park will earn an automatic berth in the Breeders' Cup Marathon at Santa Anita.

Officials announced yesterday that the Breeders' Cup Challenge has expanded to 62 "Win and You're In" races in seven countries. Last year, there were 57.

The winners will gain entry into the 2-day, 14-race $25.5 million Breeders' Cup World Championships on Nov. 6-7.

The qualifying races begin July 4 with the United Nations Handicap and the Salvatore Mile, both at Monmouth Park.

The Greenwood Cup on July 18 is the first of four qualifying races for the Marathon. The Aug. 5 Cougar II at Del Mar, the Sept. 12 Turfway Park Fall Championship, and the Oct. 2 Diamond S. at Dundalk are the others.

Evening Attire won the Greenwood Cup last year, setting a track record for 12 furlongs, but did not run at the Breeders' Cup. *
