The NHL's third annual Winter Classic is expected to be a hot ticket when the Flyers and the Boston Bruins face off at Fenway Park on New Year's Day.

An online drawing on the league's Web site, NHL.com, will be conducted to determine who gets the seats. Registration for the drawing will begin Sept. 15 at noon at www.nhl.com/winterclassic. The online registration will end Oct. 5 at 11:59 a.m.

Ticket prices will range from $50 to $350. Details on sales to Bruins and Flyers season-ticket holders will be announced later this month.

Prospective ticket buyers can sign up today for alerts on the registration process at NHL.com.

In 2008, tickets sold out in 20 minutes for the NHL's first outdoor game, between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres, at the 74,000-seat Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.

There were more than 240,000 ticket requests for last season's game between Detroit and Chicago at Wrigley Field.

Fenway Park holds about 38,000 fans for Red Sox games.
