The Phillies will open the 2010 season at Washington on April 5, according to a tentative schedule released yesterday.

The home opener is April 12 vs. the Nationals at Citizens Bank Park.

For the first time in 4 years, the Phillies will open and close the season on the road. The season ends with a six-game trip, with three games in Washington (Sept. 27-29) and three in Atlanta (Oct. 1-3).

In interleague play, the Phillies visit Boston and the Yankees in back-to-back series in June on a six-game road trip. The Phillies also visit Toronto.

The Red Sox (May 21-23), Minnesota (June 18-20) and Cleveland (June 22-24) play in Philly next season.

As has been a tradition since Citizens Bank Park opened, the Phillies will hold an On-Deck Series before the season opener with games April 2-3. The opponent and times have yet to determined.
