A lot of unexpected and crazy stuff has happened on the Philly sports landscape over the last year. Cliff Lee was traded to the Phillies, Michael Vick became an Eagle, and Allen Iverson returned to Philly. Now, if this latest move is finalized, Roy Halladay will wear Phillies pinstripes, and Lee, the Phils' most dominant postseason player last year, will be shipped out of town.

High drama indeed. But which of those is/was the biggest story?

It has been nuts, hasn't it? Big, big arrivals with Vick and Iverson, and it's hard to argue the impact Lee had on the Phils. But getting Halladay would be like getting LeBron. He's the superstar of superstars, and he's still in his prime. I hate to see Lee go, because he was nails while he was here, but Halladay is one of the top two or three pitchers in baseball.

Now if Vick continues scoring touchdowns and the Eagles somehow play in Miami in February, we can revisit this.

Acquiring Halladay is huge, no doubt. And bringing Iverson back was a nice bit of nostalgia, though judging by the attendance it appears people have already had their fix. Because of the off-field nonsense - but obviously not his on-field production, though that's improving - I'd go with Vick. It was such a huge national (even international) story/controversy when it happened.

I can't believe this, but I agree with Johnzo. Swapping one star pitcher for another in December is a big story, but being the team that hires a convicted dog killer, now that's a story.

Well, well. Look who finally got one right. After countless incomplete passes, Fordandlong finally hit one down the field.

I knew if I hung around you long enough, I'd get really smart, Gonzoprofessor.

No, no. I really mean it. My journalistic career was unfulfilled until I met Talkin'. Now I can retire a happy man (next month).
