Giants starting left guard Rich Seubert will be sidelined indefinitely with a broken left hand, coach Tom Coughlin said yesterday. The team will find out how long Seubert will be out when he is examined today.

Seubert is the second offensive lineman to go down, joining center Shaun O'Hara, who has been sidelined since Monday with swelling in his left ankle. Coughlin said O'Hara is due back Monday, along with safety Kenny Phillips, who missed most of last season with a major knee injury.

Also, receiver Steve Smith, who caught a team-record 107 passes last season, injured his groin making a routine move during practice. He said he doesn't think the injury is serious.
