La Salle's Tom Trainer took his second-straight District 12 Class AAA track title in the 3,200-meter run and qualified for the PIAA Class AAA state championships at Shippensburg University.

Trainer, who will continue his career at Villanova University, turned in a time of 9:23.56, winning by more than 13 seconds.

Two-time Catholic League champion Katie Rodden of Archbishop Carroll won the girls' Class AAA 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:01.09 for her first District 12 title and will also run in the state Class AAA meet.


Central got a win from Daniel Spivack at No. 3 singles and clinched the Public League title with a 3-2 win over Masterman at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.

Spivack beat Sergio Muniz, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), to earn the victory. Spivack trailed in the second set, 5-3. Central has now won a league title in each of coach Mike Horowits' first five seasons. *
