St. Joseph's Prep boys win Catholic League lacrosse title
Blaine Fleming's hat trick helped St. Joseph's Prep top La Salle, 8-6, in the Catholic League boys' lacrosse championship game yesterday at Cardinal O'Hara. Jeff Heath and Brad James each scored twice for the Hawks (16-4), who won their first league title since 2003. The Explorers (14-6), who were going for their eighth straight league crown, were paced by Matt Rambo's three goals.

Boys' Volleyball
Setter Subin Shaji had 30 assists and libero Jithin Joseph served 10 consecutive winning points in Game 2 as Washington earned its first-ever Public League championship, beating CAPA, 30-28, 25-23 and 25-19.
Softball
At Arcadia University, Lansdale Catholic took advantage of three bases-loaded walks in the sixth inning to rally for a 3-1 win over St. Hubert in the Catholic League title game. The win avenged a 1-0 loss to St. Hubert in last year's title game. Mary Cate Scott pitched a two-hitter for the Crusaders.
At La Salle University, Masterman senior Emily Ashbridge, handcuffed Franklin Towne Charter on four hits in a 6-0 win, pitching the Blue Dragons to their third straight Public League title. Ashbridge is 54-2 over her career. The senior lefthander finished with 11 strikeouts and one walk. *
