C.J. Fair and Tyler Ennis each scored 21 points for No. 2 Syracuse in a 68-63 victory over St. John's on Sunday at New York's Madison Square Garden.

The Red Storm (6-3) had tied the game at 53 before Syracuse (10-0) became the second highly ranked team to escape over the weekend. No. 1 Arizona beat Michigan, 72-70, on Saturday.

Boston College 67, Philadelphia U. 50 - Derek Johnson (Atlantic Christian) recorded a game-high 15 points and a team-best seven rebounds in the Division II Rams' loss to the Division I Eagles (4-7) in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The game was an exhibition for Philadelphia (7-3) and didn't count in BC's RPI rating.


Villanova 83, La Salle 47 -

The Wildcats improved to 8-1 overall and 1-1 in the Big Five with their win over the Explorers (3-5, 0-3) at Tom Gola Arena.

Emily Leer (Abington) scored 21 points to lead 'Nova. Samantha Wilkes netted 13 points.

La Salle's Jasmine Alston had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Drexel 53, Prairie View A&M 45 - The Dragons (4-5) never trailed against the Panthers (0-8) in the St. John's Chartwell's Holiday Classic in New York. MVP Rachel Pearson finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Penn State 66, Texas A&M 58 - Maggie Lucas (Germantown Academy) scored 26 points to lead the No. 12 Nittany Lions (7-3) past the No. 24 Aggies (6-3) in State College.

Rutgers 71, Sacred Heart 51 - Kahleah Copper (Prep Charter) netted 17 points as the Scarlet Knights improved to 8-2 by beating the Pioneers (2-7) in Piscataway, N.J.

Princeton 84, Delaware 80 - Freshman Shanice Johnson (Cardinal O'Hara) scored 14 points for the Blue Hens (6-2), who lost to the host Tigers (6-4) after Princeton's Alex Wheatley (Council Rock South) sent the game into overtime.
