If Eva Longoria were to date online

Stars, they’re just like us. They buy their groceries on Sundays, they order take-out Thai food on the way home from the gym, they have to remove their shoes when going through airport security at LAX… and they do online dating!?!

Stars, they're just like us. They buy their groceries on Sundays, they order take-out Thai food on the way home from the gym, they have to remove their shoes when going through airport security at LAX… and they do online dating!?!

A story came out recently saying that, after some friends started a successful relationship on Match.com, Eva Longoria "believes that online dating works," and I couldn't agree with her more. It turns out many celebrities have used online dating to find their partner in crime, including the famous (or infamous?) Millionaire Matchmaker herself, Patti Stanger. A recent tweet from @pattistanger even said:

"East coast how did u like mm finale? West coast get ready for some real lovin! I met @david_krausse on plenty of fish but i love @match too."

If the world's most famous (and perhaps most brutally honest) matchmaker can do it, then so can you… and so can Eva Longoria.

Sarah Gooding, the Product Manager for Plenty of Fish (an extremely popular free online dating site), has a few pointers for celebrities trying to online date:

- Use real pictures of yourself, but do not show a clear shot of your face. Examples are pictures of you skiing, looking at the outdoors, etc. Feel free to privately e-mail real photos, though, if someone interests you. (Please note that this is different from the general photo advice that I give clients.)

- Don't reveal that you're a celebrity. Otherwise, you'll get inundated with people just e-mailing you because you're, well, you.

- Use a regular point-and-shoot camera so the photos look more natural. (Try to avoid the ones from your last show premiere!)

- Search for your potential matches yourself. You know what you're looking for the best.

- Use your headline or tagline to show your sense of humor.

Using what I know (and what good ol' Wikipedia was willing to share with me), below is the proposed profile that our dear Eva could use for online dating.

Username: TexicanGal

A product of the Lone Star State, I'm definitely of the opinion that you don't mess with Texas. While I may be the baby of my family (the youngest of four girls – my poor dad!), I like to think I've broken out of the youngest-child mold… although, I do like to break the rules sometimes.

I've always been fascinated by two things: people and business. I'm lucky that I get to combine those interests every day through my job, my volunteer work, and my writing. I try to learn a bit about everything – cooking, charity, family dynamics, advertising, and politics. If there's a chance to see, taste, or do something new, then I've likely already reserved my seat.

While it may sound funny, I'm a sucker for someone with a good grasp of words and a large vocabulary. What can I say? If you can beat me at Scrabble, you'll score extra points in my book… even more than the triple-letter points for your "Q." I'm also looking for someone with compassion for the world, a kind smile, and a warm heart. Think it might be you?
