What it does: This accommodations booking website caters to travelers who want the space a vacation rental provides but with hotel amenities. Available in Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Montreal, San Diego, Toronto and Vancouver, British Columbia.

What's hot: It had me at crisp white linens. Hotel amenities at these properties include 24/7 concierge service, hotel-style sheets and towels, local guides, good-quality toiletries, WiFi, and a fully stocked kitchen. I was also drawn to its budget-conscious pricing. Several of the properties start at less than $100 a night; I even found some as low as $69 a night in several cities. Prices sometimes changed according to date, but I couldn't find a specific rate calendar. Make sure to scroll through all the pictures before you use the filters. I found a house with three bedrooms in San Diego starting at $129 a night and a two-bedroom oceanfront apartment in Miami starting at $139 a night. These rates were before taxes and the $95 cleaning fee.

What's not: Charm and design sense varies. If you prefer a homey vacation rental with its share of personal effects, this may not be your site. The pictures depict rentals with minimalist decor and maximum cleanliness. Are they too clean to be comfortable? You'll have to stay to find out.
