What makes you proud of your house of worship?
The motto of our church is "Love all, serve all." We are a small church with a big heart. In addition to financial contributions to almost 20 charitable organizations locally and nationally, our members contribute their time to helping others. This past year, the church sponsored a mission trip to Vietnam by one of our members. On holidays, we distribute food baskets to the needy in our community and stock a food pantry. We provide individual counseling through our Stephen Ministry. Proceeds from the May flea market went to the local community. We participate in Somerdale Day and Gloucester Township Day.
Two of our most successful endeavors have been serving children in the community for more than 25 years. Our on-site Cornerstone Nursery School has an enrollment of about 80. Our Vacation Bible School in August drew more than 150 area children.
Our women's circles continue biblical education. There are choirs for every age group, as well as a Praise Choir and Bell Choir. Special events last year included a Lenten series and dinners on Sunday evenings featuring discussions on controversial subjects with guest speakers. Next spring, the emphasis will be on world religions. A health and personal service fair is planned for Jan. 12. The public is encouraged to participate in all our events.
