The Rev. Charles A. Green, a retired elder of the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference, will speak in the Pitman manor auditorium in observance of Methodist church founder John Wesley's Aldersgate experience 270 years ago. Green, pastor of Chalfont United Methodist Church in Chalfont, Pa., holds degrees from Harvard Divinity School and Princeton Theological Seminary. Alumni basketball game
Men and women who ever played varsity basketball at Glassboro High School are invited to play in the annual alumni basketball game sponsored by the Glassboro High School Basketball Club. Fans are invited to attend the game for a $1 donation. Fund-raising fine art
Spanner, a nonprofit organization that assists young people with developmental disabilities in South Jersey, holds its biannual fund-raising Fine Art Show and Auction at Shannon's Country House, 490 White Horse Pike, Atco. Learn more about your garden during herb and garden lectures and demonstrations Saturday and Sunday. Participants will sit under trees and hear herbalists show and tell all about their favorite plants. The event will be held at the Triple Oak Nursery and Herb Garden, 2359 Delsea, in downtown Franklinville. The festivities include lectures, informal talks and demonstrations, food samples and walks in the herb, perennial, kitchen and hardy tropical display gardens. Lunches will be available both days provided by the Country Garden Club and the Herb Society of America SJ unit. All proceeds will go for horticultural scholarships. will telecast four live shows this summer from the Music Pier in Ocean City spotlighting issues affecting teens and people in their 20s. The series begins Saturday with "Defining Your Image!" discussing self-esteem, body image, celebrity influence and fashion. Jane Seymour art exhibit
Ocean Galleries welcomes back Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Seymour for a Memorial Day exhibition. "The Art of Jane Seymour" exhibition in Stone Harbor is open to the public through tomorrow. Seymour will make personal appearances throughout the weekend. After the initial opening weekend, a limited amount of Seymour's watercolors and oil paintings will remain at Ocean Galleries through June 1. Ocean Galleries is at 9618 Third Ave., Stone Harbor. Marie Natale opens her watercolor exhibit "Summer Sisters" today at the Chalfonte Hotel, 301 Howard St., Cape May. The exhibit depicts the nature and people of the Jersey Shore with its long tradition of creating summer families. This exhibit is about the business owners and their seasonal employees who return to shore communities every year to live, work and play together.
