Five students from Bucks County recently were honored by the Mideastern Region of the Pennsylvania State Education Association for works in the 20th annual Touch the Future student art exhibition.

Twenty-four public schools in Bucks and Montgomery Counties submitted some 600 students' artwork in 14 media categories and 260 pieces were selected for display.

A total of 19 students from the two counties were honored with awards.

The exhibition began as a memorial to Christa McAuliffe, whose motto was "I touch the future . . . I teach." McAuliffe died in the space shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986.

Shown here are the works of Rhiannon Davis of Pennsbury High School and Kyle Psulkowski of Council Rock High School South.

Rhiannon won best of category in printmaking. Kyle won best of category for 2-D mixed media.

Other Bucks County winners will appear in future weeks.
