You probably know that Time Magazine selects a Person of the Year, someone who has had a major impact on the world, for better or for worse. (This year's Person of the Year was Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who is "no boy scout," as Time managing editor Richard Stengel put it.

Is there someone from Chester County who you feel has had a major impact for good on life in the county this year? It could be an organization, such as a nonprofit group, or an individual. An educator, a public official, a Little League coach or soccer mom, a police officer or firefighter. A business leader. Karen Porter? Rich Davis?

In the interest of keeping things civil, we'll forget about nominating anyone you think has been a bad influence on county life.

A few other ground rules: don't nominate yourself or a relative. If you work for or with your nominee, make that clear. And tell us why you you picked that person or group.
