Delaware County officials will hold a Drug Abuse and Heroin Awareness forum on Thursday to focus on the epidemic of misuse in the suburb.

There have been 20 heroin-related deaths so far in 2013, according to the District Attorney's office.

The two-hour event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center on 601 N. Lansdowne Ave. and is open to the public.

A father whose son died as a result of his drug addiction will present his story. The forum also will also include information on how children obtain drugs, the warning signs of abuse and how to get help.
