QUAKERTOWN A $7.4 million resurfacing project on the Northeast Extension began last week that will restrict lanes and reduce speed limits on an 8.4-mile stretch of the road until November, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The resurfacing will be done between the Lansdale and Quakertown Exits, according to the announcement.

Lanes will be closed only during off-peak hours Mondays through Saturdays, the announcement said.

The project is fully funded by tolls, according to the agency, and the contractor completing the job is Blooming Glenn Contractors of Bucks County.
