Widener honors 2 workers

CHESTER Two Widener University employees have been given the Eckard Award in recognition of their hard work and commitment, the school announced.

JoAnn Anderson of Wallingford has worked at the school for 24 years. Now administrative assistant to the provost, Anderson is known as the go-to person for faculty, staff, and students.

"I've had a wonderful career at Widener, and it's because of the great people I work with each day," Anderson said in a statement.

Kevin Raport of Aston has worked in campus safety for 15 years. As chief of campus safety for the School of Law, Raport is known for his collaborative style, leadership, and hands-on approach to campus safety.

"During my time with Widener, I've had the privilege of working with so many great people over the years that I'm grateful to even be considered for this award," Raport said in a statement.

The award, named after William David Eckard III, a longtime president of administration and finance, carries a $3,000 grant. - Mari A. Schaefer
