Brent S. Galletta, 41, of Northampton County, was sentenced Friday to 50 years in federal prison for enticement and child pornography.

In Galletta's trial in Easton, U.S. Attorney's Office presented evidence from a sting operation in which Galletta said he was trying to meet girls as young as 7 years old. The state attorney general initially investigated the case, which was later was adopted by federal prosecutors.

U.S. District Judge Edward Smith issued the sentence after a jury convicted Galletta in September. Smith previously was Common Pleas judge in Northampton County and he presided at a 2004 state trial in which Galletta was convicted of corruption of a minor. - Mark Fazlollah
