Man shot during alleged robbery attempt is arrested

A man allegedly attempting a street robbery was shot by his intended victim Friday afternoon in North Philadelphia, police said.

A man allegedly attempting a street robbery was shot by his intended victim Friday afternoon in North Philadelphia, police said.

The shooting occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the area of Broad Street and Allegheny Avenue, police said.

The 23-year-old man was shot three times in the right leg and twice in the left leg.

He was taken by private vehicle to nearby Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition and placed under arrest.

No immediate information was released on the shooter, who was described only as a male.
