Former mayor Michael Nutter posted a caustic, rambling statement on his website Monday attacking Ashley Del Bianco, executive director of the Mayor's Fund of Philadelphia, who had complained to the City Controller's Office last year about misuse of credit cards linked to the fund.

Nutter's 1,500-word diatribe came in response to an Inquirer and Daily News story about Desiree Peterkin Bell, the former chairwoman of the Mayor's Fund for Philadelphia. Reporters reviewed credit-card statements and other financial records and found that Peterkin Bell didn't offer documented explanation for $52,000 worth of expenses in 2015, including 458 Uber rides.
