The designer Hugo Boss?
It's more like Who's the Boss? when it comes to TV star-slash-designer Alyssa Milano.
The actress will visit Citizens Bank Park before tomorrow's Phillies-Cardinals game, where she will be at the Majestic Clubhouse Store from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. to promote her licensed women's fashion collection, TOUCH by Alyssa Milano. Any fan who purchases a TOUCH item will get the chance to meet her and receive an autographed gift.
Milano, 35 and a native New Yorker, says she "grew up watching baseball in my father's lap." The Milanos followed the Yankees but migrated to the Dodgers when they moved west for her career.
The idea for a sportswear line, including tops and caps, was a "lightbulb moment. It was born out of necessity because I couldn't find clothes to fit my body comfortably. Everything out there was boxy and cheap. I figured there was probably a market out there - 50 percent of fans are female and they're the largest purchasers - so I pitched it to Major League Baseball."
She now has licensing deals with baseball, the NFL, NBA and NHL, plus college leagues.
Milano, whose grandmother, age 98, was a milliner and whose mother was a designer and boutique owner, hasn't given up her day job. She just shot a comedy pilot for ABC.
