Two teenagers were killed in separate shootings in South Philadelphia this afternoon, police said.

Shortly before 2 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot multiple times in the chest, neck and arm while on the 1500 block of Reed Street, police said. He was transported by a medic unit to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and pronounced dead at 2:06 p.m.

About an hour later, three males were driving in the area of 17th and Tasker Streets when they heard gunshots and realized one of them, a 17-year-old boy, had been shot in the back, police said.

The males drove to the firehouse at 20th and Federal Streets, and from there the teenager was taken by medics to Jefferson, where he was pronounced at 4:24 p.m., police said.

No arrests were immediately reported.
