Two men, including a 74-year-old bystander, were wounded Sunday night in a shooting in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.
The 21-year-old man believed to be the intended target of the attack was reported in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with bullet wounds to the chest, abdomen and left leg, police said.
The 74-year-old victim was helping his wife get out of their car about 9:50 p.m. when gunfire erupted on the 5600 block of Malcolm Street in Kingsessing, police said. He tried to run to safety but was hit once in the leg. He was reported on stable condition at HUP.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between the shooter and the 21-year-old victim.
No arrest has been reported.
