Philadelphia Daily News takes highest honor at 2014 Keystone Press Awards
The Philadelphia Daily News cleaned up at this year's Keystone Press Awards, receiving seven first-place wins in categories ranging from editorial to news photo.
The awards included a nod to the entire staff for its coverage of the building collapse last June that killed six people and injured 14. The People Paper received a second staff-wide win for its edition spotlighting slain Philadelphia teens in the days following the Trayvon Martin verdict.
The Daily News took its division in the Keystone Press Awards sweepstakes, making it the Commonwealth's most lauded paper with a circulation of over 75,000.
"I can't say I'm surprised because we're the hardest working staff on the planet, from my vantage point," editor Michael Days said. "There's not a ton of us, but we work really hard on behalf of Philadelphia. It's nice to have our peers acknowledge our work."
