Two Burlington County teenagers wanted on suspicion of murder in a drug-related slaying in Lumberton last month waived extradition yesterday after being captured in North Carolina, authorities said.

Wendell T. Jones, 19, and Alfonso Nicholas, 16, both of Pemberton, were taken into custody Friday by U.S. marshals in Kannapolis, said Jack Smith, a spokesman for the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office.

Early on April 25, Brandon Faust of Millersville, Md., was found shot dead behind the wheel of his 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser in the Dorado Garden Apartments. A boy who had been a passenger in the vehicle gave police a description of the SUV that Jones and Nicholas had been riding in. Detectives learned that Faust, 23, had been the target of a robbery during a drug transaction with the two suspects, Smith said. The two are being held in the Cabarrus County Jail in Concord, N.C., awaiting extradition. - Sam Wood
