Somers Point man held in beating death of son, 4

An Atlantic County man was charged yesterday in the beating death of his 4-year-old son, authorities said.

Joseph Deneal 2d, 23, of Somers Point, was arrested Wednesday after medical examiner Hydow Park ruled the death a homicide and determined the boy had died of multiple blunt force trauma on Monday. Deneal was charged with manslaughter and child endangerment, said county Prosecutor Ted Housel.
