Baby is OK after being left on N.J. train platform
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - It was a panic moment for two New Brunswick parents when they mistakenly left their 6-month-old infant on the platform of the town's train station.
New Brunswick police say the parents, who were not identified, were hauling several pieces of luggage, each thinking the other was carrying the child, when they boarded an NJ Transit train about 6:30 a.m. yesterday. Instead, the infant was still in a stroller on the train platform.
Police say the parents soon realized the mistake. They alerted the train conductor, who called police. The father got off at the next stop, and took a cab back to New Brunswick to retrieve the baby, who was unharmed.
Police didn't file any charges against the parents.
