N.J. Turnpike Authority chief leaving for private job

TRENTON - Michael Lapolla, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority's executive director for the last six years, announced yesterday that he is stepping down to take a job in the private sector.

The authority runs the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike and owns the PNC Bank Arts Center.

Lapolla would not say where he was going. He thanked authority workers for helping to fix the once-troubled E-ZPass system and other accomplishments. - AP
