Jimmy Rollins

is one of the most dapper Phillies, and he and girlfriend

Johari Smith

will appear in a Playboy fashion feature, most likely in the June issue and on video on Playboy's Web site.

The couple modeled sportswear, swimwear, and resort wear for photog Nicola Majocchi at Miami's Glasshaus Studios on Feb. 13.

J-Roll is not media-shy. Last season, he led a tour of his Gloucester County estate on MTV's Cribs, and helped turn a dilapidated conference room into a state-of-the-art fitness center at a North Philadelphia rec center on DIY Network's Project MVP.

Chris Cabott of the Center City law office of Lloyd Remick/Zane Management coordinated the shoot on behalf of Rollins and Smith.

Playing ball

Here's something out of center field: Expect word Thursday that the new cheesesteak vendor in Ashburn Alley at Citizens Bank Park will be Campo's Deli, the shop in Old City with an outpost in the Wachovia Center. The deal is for one year. Menu will include cheesesteaks, chicken cheesesteaks, and a new sandwich called "The Heater," which

Denise Campo

describes as a spicy-hot cheesesteak with pepper jack and hot sauce. Geno's and Rick's ran the stand previously.

Great views and a tax abatement: So why shouldn't Pat Burrell, now a Tampa Bay Ray, keep his Center City condo as an investment? My source says he's renting out the 5,400-square-foot penthouse in the Lanesborough for north of $10,000 a month. He bought it for $2.6 million in late 2004.

Voilà

Olivier Desaintmartin

, who owns Zinc and Caribou Cafe in Washington Square West, is flying off to be inducted into the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France tomorrow.

Georges Perrier

and

Jean-Pierre Tardy

are the only other local chefs with this title, as there are only about 300 altogether. Desaintmartin, 47, says he had no idea that inspectors had been checking him out the last five years.

Fifty ways to love your liver

About a dozen young, black-clad, bandanna-wearing, bullhorn-toting foie gras protesters showed up outside Center City restaurants including Zinc, Caribou Cafe, Time, and Valanni on Wednesday - the penultimate night of Philadelphia Foie Gras Week. About 20 restaurants offered $5 specials featuring foie gras, the controversial creation made from the fattened livers of (mainly) ducks. Police reported no arrests, and it's not clear who these protesters were.

Nick Cooney

, head of the Humane League of Philadelphia (formerly Hugs for Puppies), says his group was not involved because it has turned its attention elsewhere. Meanwhile, an aide to State Rep.

Rick Taylor

(D., Montgomery) says the Bucks County Alliance for Animals has approached Taylor about introducing a bill to ban the production and sale of foie gras in Pennsylvania.

Media notes

WPHT morning talker (and Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News columnist)

Michael Smerconish

picked up Radio & Records magazine's Industry Achievement Award for news/talk/sports local personality of the year, a big-deal peer prize.

This will be the last workweek for Michael Colleran, 63, who stepped aside as head of CBS3 and CW57 the other day after exactly four years - including that annus horribilis that encompassed the firing of Alycia Lane and guilty plea of Larry Mendte. "I'm at a time in my life where I am tremendously excited about the prospect of doing new things," he says. Successor Jon Hitchcock, 44, comes from Hartford, Conn., where he ran ABC and MYTV affiliates for LIN Television - not CBS. LIN is known for its lean operations.

WPHT nighttime talker Dom Giordano, tapping into sentiment about the economy, has created a field of 64 "losers" that he and listeners are comparing, NCAA bracket-style, on the air. He's down to George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, ex-Fed chairman Alan Greenspan, Rep. Barney Frank, ex-Countrywide Mortgage head Angelo Mozilo, the United Auto Workers, General Motors, and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.

The Beat (WPHI, 100.3) has temporarily elevated Michael Shawn to middays after Laiya St. Claire departed Friday. On her blog, www.laiyasworld.com, St. Claire posted: "I'm gonna miss you guys! Stay tuned for more. It ain't over yet!"

Beasley Broadcast has let go Wired 96.5 general manager Lynn Bruder, adding her duties to those of WXTU general manager Natalie Connor, now a vice president. Both were appointed four years ago.

Chubby Checker

's dinner arrangements at Ventura's in Voorhees Wednesday had a twist. Stopping in to visit a junior high school buddy, singer/piano man

Nicky DeMatteo

, he got up on stage to sing the standard "Time After Time."

CBS's Cold Case is here this weekend to shoot exteriors in Manayunk and Center City.

Director F. Gary Gray and his crew on the drama Law Abiding Citizen marked the first day of spring by making snow outside a farmhouse near New Hope for a helicopter shot. The film is in its final 10 days or so of production.

Jamie Foxx, a star of Law Abiding Citizen, joined the panel "Black Hollywood" last Sunday with actor Keith Robinson and author-director Miasha at Radio One's Music and Entertainment Conference at the Philadelphia Marriott. Foxx told the audience how he had mounted a comeback after moving to Las Vegas from L.A. after the series In Living Color was canceled in 1994. In an approach worthy of today's social-media marketing, he collected pager numbers and beeped the masses whenever he had a show. Patti LaBelle and Yolanda Adams, eating dinner at SoleFood at the Loews hotel after the conference, were approached by a waiter who requested LaBelle's autograph for his mother on her birthday. LaBelle had the guy phone his mother so she could sing "Happy Birthday" over the phone.
