Weekend traffic altered on Route 202
EAST WHITELAND Several traffic pattern changes are anticipated on Route 202 beginning Friday night and lasting through the weekend, according to PennDot. The changes will shift southbound traffic over the center of the highway from Route 401 to U.S. Route 30.
The changes will begin to take affect at 10 p.m. Friday, when southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane between Routes 29 and 30. After midnight, traffic could be stopped intermittently for 15-minute periods, according to PennDot. On Saturday, traffic is expected to be rerouted to the other side of the highway.
The southbound entrance and exit ramps at the Route 401 interchange are also anticipated to be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
According to PennDot, the construction is part of a $63.3 million project to widen 21/2 miles of Route 202. The project is expected to continue until May 2016.
