LANCASTER, Pa.

- Officials say the death of a Camden County man in a Pennsylvania prison will be investigated and prison procedures will be reviewed.

LancasterOnline.com reported that Patrick Kanney, 26, of Pennsauken, N.J., died Wednesday, two days after attempting suicide at the Lancaster County prison.

Coroner Stephen Diamantoni said an autopsy yesterday concluded that Kanney's death was a suicide by hanging.

Commissioner Scott Martin said an internal investigation will determine if prison procedures were followed or whether they need to be changed.

Officials released few details about the incident except to say that Kanney was tended to by correctional and medical staff until an ambulance arrived.

Kanney had been jailed since Saturday on charges of theft, loitering and prowling in Ephrata.
