NAEEM JOHNSON, a suspected pimp police had been chasing since June, couldn't run from the law forever.

On Tuesday - about four months after Philadelphia Police obtained a warrant for Johnson's arrest on charges that he sold an 18-year-old woman for sex in a seedy Northeast Philadelphia hotel - the man's luck ran out in South Jersey. That's where, police said yesterday, a FBI violent crime task force tracked him down and found him pimping another woman inside a Mount Laurel Red Roof Inn.

Being caught in the act bought Johnson, 31, an additional charge of promoting prostitution in New Jersey, said Philadelphia Citywide Vice Sgt. Joseph Lanciano.

An undercover Vice officer first caught on to Johnson's alleged pimping operation in June during a sting at the Roosevelt Inn, on Roosevelt Boulevard near Napfle Street in the Northeast. Philadelphia Vice Lt. Derrick Wood said cops obtained a warrant for Johnson, who has numerous previous arrests, days after the sting and had been searching for him since.

U.S. Marshals figured out that Johnson was lurking in Mount Laurel, Lanciano said yesterday, and busted him there Tuesday.

Lanciano said the woman found with Johnson on Tuesday was not arrested. Johnson faces charges of promoting prostitution and being a fugitive from justice in New Jersey and will face a felony charge of promoting prostitution on his outstanding warrant in Philadelphia.

Johnson is being held in lieu of $55,000 bail in Burlington County Jail, according to a statement from Mount Laurel Police.
